The show moved to Monday night to allow for the American Music Awards 50th anniversary special to air on October 6, 2024.^[49]

After airing, there was controversy about the preview of the Harris interview shown on "Face the Nation" which used a different edit from one used during the broadcast show.^[50][45][51] On October 31, 2024, Trump sued CBS in the Amarillo Division of United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas accusing the broadcaster of deceptive trade practices.^{[52][53][54][55][56]} In February 2025, CBS turned over to the Federal Communications Commission and the public unedited transcripts from the Harris interviews.^{[57][58][59][60][61][62][63][64]}
