A few rambling thoughts and hot takes
- This user wants it known that he is a prolific user of the en dash (–) but that does not mean that his edits are AI-generated. Indeed, you can find plenty of my talk page comments prior to the rise of LLMs that overuse and abuse the en dash.
- I am continuously in awe of just how many users spell out their political/social views on a their user page, such as through a userbox, and yet unashamedly promote these views through their edits unchallenged. While WP:AGF exists, I think we should be bolder in questioning the motive of users who are explicit in their political views when their edits conveniently align with said outlook.
- I wrote WP:INSCRUTABLE, which partially applies to the above, although that was specifically about users who don't spell out their views - but you can figure them out anyway simply by observing their edits over time. Nonetheless, the general message still applies here.
- Similarly, if you want to find a reliable source to say what you want it to say, it's generally easy to do so. In these instances, the personal motivations of editors can skew the POV of an article by using said sources while using WP:DUE to minimise opposing sources.
- Also similarly, sometimes sources are simply wrong in their political descriptions, but there's not much that can be done about that when they're reliable.
- Wikipedia is a bureaucracy. While it claims not to be, and shouldn't be, it is deeply and immutably bureaucratic in nature.
- WP:NO-PREEMPT is a daft rule.
