Thank you
Sincere thank you for your work on Kim Chwajin; he really deserved a great article and you delivered. If I can make a suggestion, Hong Beom-do is also very important and is in dire need of a rewrite. grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 18:58, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for saying that! I'll definitely add Hong to the list, but it may have to wait, as I'm focused on a bunch of different other stuff. --Grnrchst (talk) 19:06, 30 May 2025 (UTC)
- @Grapesurgeon: Do you think the article on Kim Chwajin would be ready for a good article nomination? I can't seem to find much else on him in the English language (and I can't read Korean). --Grnrchst (talk) 10:19, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
- Yea. I think it's plenty good enough for a GA; useful to broad audiences. I will say it's missing a good chunk of possible info that's probably only in the Korean language, but it's nothing that prevents the current article from being useful enough to most non-Koreans. grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk) 17:12, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

General references in stub articles
In single-sentence stubs like Anarchism (Woodcock book) with a full References section, any of those references can verify the book's topic, author, and release year, which is to say that those are General References. The {{no footnotes}} template is not necessary as there is no ambiguity over how the one-sentence article is sourced. Wanted to leave a note as you appear to be adding this template to a number of articles. czar 03:34, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Czar: Ach, thanks for pointing that out. These single-sentence book stubs were the main ones I wasn't super sure about tagging, but wanted to somehow highlight that they need expansion. I can go back and remove those if they were inappropriate. --Grnrchst (talk) 07:45, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- No worries, just wanted to flag it for going forward. Re: need for expansion, usually just the stub template itself (and the article's clearly short length) is enough to indicate, with cleanup templates being more for policy issues. czar 12:38, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Ok got it, I'll keep note of that. By the way, apologies for the incoming wave of issues that'll be hitting our cleanup tracker on Tuesday. I figured it best for us in the long run if I went through our stub and start-class articles to see which ones are still in need of citations, but it might be a bit hectic in the short-term. --Grnrchst (talk) 14:00, 1 June 2025 (UTC)

Gaetano Bresci scheduled for TFA
This is to let you know that the above article has been scheduled as today's featured article for 29 July 2025. Please check that the article needs no amendments. Feel free to amend the draft blurb, which can be found at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/July 2025, or to make comments on other matters concerning the scheduling of this article at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/July 2025. Please keep an eye on that page, as notifications of copy edits to or queries about the draft blurb may be left there by user:JennyOz, who assists the coordinators by reviewing the blurbs, or by others. I also suggest that you watchlist Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors from two days before it appears on the Main Page. Thanks, and congratulations on your work! SchroCat (talk) 15:15, 2 June 2025 (UTC)
Food for thought
One reason you may want to be careful about applying {{Too long}} unsupervised—I've seen new users apparently asked to help out by the mobile app mercilessly chop half of an article out because of such banners, with others coming later to paper the evidence over, leaving future readers puzzled why there's only half of an article to read. Remsense 🌈 论 11:19, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- This drive by tagging is disruptive editing - I note that you are currently tagging 1-2 articles a minute, which obviously means that no consideration is being given to the actual content of articles. Please stop this. Nick-D (talk) 11:25, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Remsense: I hadn't considered that, thanks for bringing it up. --Grnrchst (talk) 11:28, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- Of course! You know, of all the social/rhetorical arts one could master on Wikipedia, maintenance tagging may be the most subtle of them all, and with potentially great rewards too. Remsense 🌈 论 11:31, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Remsense: Do you have any recommendations or know of any essays/guidelines for this? I want to make sure what I'm doing is always for the long-term benefit of the article and really don't want to be disruptive. --Grnrchst (talk) 11:37, 7 June 2025 (UTC)
- A good rule of thumb—which has literally never failed me, come to think of it, so maybe it's just a rule!—is to ask on a relevant WikiProject or the Village pump before doing anything more intrusive than typo fixes across a large number of articles that exist outside the ambit you would otherwise typically be working in. That is, WP:MEATBOTTING is just as carefully done as regular botting.
- (Tangential maybe, but my Wikipedia neuroses generally revolve around fear of "good" articles getting significantly worse with no one noticing and it becoming a stratum in the edit history impossible to easily excise—so much of my philosophy revolves around how to best prevent specifically that from happening to articles I arbitrarily decided I care about.)Remsense 🌈 论 11:48, 7 June 2025 (UTC)

Centro Iberico
Hiya, I was just gearing up to do a rollback of ManfredHugh's edits on Centro Iberico when I saw your edit. It is indeed close paraphrasing :( Same prob as at Squatting in England and Wales. We are in discussion on the talk page there, but I don't think they are getting the point :( How are you thinking to proceed? Mujinga (talk) 11:47, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Mujinga: Honestly I don't think I would have noticed if they didn't incorrectly call Émilienne Morin by Durruti's surname (which was copied from Meltzer and Ruff word-for-word). If this is a recurring problem and they don't seem receptive to being called in on it, then it may be worth taking the issue to administrators' noticeboard. I hope that's not necessary, but it depends on how deep the problem is. --Grnrchst (talk) 11:53, 9 June 2025 (UTC)
Thank you
Thanks for organizing the May GA Challenge, and for your help on Gentlemen & Players, which eventually made it to a GA! I'm now working on Emily Bronte: I've already had some help from Spookyaki in identifying things to work on, but I don't want to keep asking them for help, as I'm sure they have their own projects. I'm still pretty new to this, so if you know of anyone who wouldn't mind mentoring me on how best to bring articles up to GA status, I'd be very grateful. ArthurTheGardener (talk) 09:08, 16 June 2025 (UTC)
- @ArthurTheGardener: Congratulations on your first GA! Awesome to hear you're working on Emily Bronte, so best of luck in improving that article. LEvalyn has done quite a bit of work on improving articles on literary subjects to GA, so it might be worth asking them. You can also ask on Women in Green's talk page to see if anyone else can help. --Grnrchst (talk) 09:15, 16 June 2025 (UTC)

- Thank you so much, LEvalyn: I've done a fair bit of work on the Emily Bronte page, and I'd really appreciate some guidance on how to proceed further. (Some of the notes are a bit confusing, and I've been wondering if they are really needed). ArthurTheGardener (talk) 06:34, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
- @ArthurTheGardener, the answer to that question, regardless of the article, is almost always "they are not needed". -- asilvering (talk) 06:41, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
- I have a tendency to spawn notes when I realise something is getting off-topic for the article but I can't bear to cut it... and it's often a mercy for someone else to fully delete them. I don't think I'd keep any of the notes currently at Emily Bronte, and I'd probably also delete that entire odd section about the story of her and her dog! As a more general piece of advice, you might find it helpful to take a look at the ODNB biography of her (you can access the ODNB with the Wikipedia Library) when trying to gauge which details are WP:DUE and which are not -- that's often where I look. Also, in future you should probably ask me questions on my own talk page, to avoid filling up Grnrchst's notifications :) ~ L 🌸 (talk) 07:06, 17 June 2025 (UTC)

Possible nomination to good article
Hey Gren, I saw an article that you created: Natalia Landsberg. From a cursory look at its sources and prose, I think it is around Good Article level, so you should consider nominating it for good article, thanks! Easternsahara (talk) 23:15, 17 June 2025 (UTC)
- @Easternsahara: Hey, I'm glad to hear you think so! Honestly, I hadn't considered nominating this for GA when writing it, as I tend to be rather selective of what I nominate due to the glacially slow pace of the reviewing process. But if you think it might meet the criteria, I can add it to my list of good article candidates. --Grnrchst (talk) 11:10, 18 June 2025 (UTC)

May wildcard
Hi, I signed up for the women in green wildcard challenge in May and nominated Georgia Hall and Charley Hull. I added them to the project's goal tracking page but I didn't realise I should have added a template to add/include them to the specific wildcard challenge. About your DCWC submission
Hey Grnrchst! Thanks for taking part in the Developing Countries WikiContest. This is about your submission of Kwŏnŏphoe's GAN review, which you submitted under both the North Korean and Russian flags. I could not verify any obvious associations with North Korea in the article text (the organization's army was succeeded by the South Korean government), so I've accepted it under Russia for now, which does not apply the 1.5× multiplier for "least developed" countries. If I'm missing something, I'd be happy to reconsider the decision. In the future, for scoring purposes, please submit articles under just one flag. Let me know if you have any questions! —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 06:24, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- @TechnoSquirrel69: Its largest factions were from Hamgyong and Pyongyang, and its inaugural president and vice president were both from the north. --Grnrchst (talk) 07:37, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks, let me check in with the other DCWC coordinators for a second opinion. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 07:51, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- On my end, I feel like it's acceptable to be considered as North Korean though the article is quite centered on Korean diaspora within Russia. Considering it has some substantial connections with the nation, I'll be okay with it. Arconning (talk) 10:41, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

Spain and the World
I would be extremely grateful for your advice about the statuses of the three categories that have been assigned to the article of Anarchist Collectives, Anarchist newspapers and Anarchist periodicals published in the United Kingdom. For two reaons I don't think that any of these categories are valid. First, the impetus for the creation of Spain and the World was, commendably, Italian anti-fascism in London, which I think merits more acknowledgement. (I've emailed Stephania Rampello, one of the authors I cited in the hope that she might be able to enlighten me about this.) Second, Spain and the World described itself as being an Anti-fascist journal and not an anarchist one. I'm very pleased that (by default), you seem to me to have accepted Spain and the World for the project because I perceive that (properly edited) it fills a gap in the pre-history of anarchism in the UK. However, I don't consider that my perception makes Spain and the World the product of an anarchist collective, an anarchist newspaper or an anarchist periodical. I hope that this request isn't too onerous. John Desmond (talk) 18:58, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
- @John Desmond: Not onerous at all! If you don't think the article belongs in these categories, then per our guidelines on categorisation, you can be bold and remove them. If someone reverts it, then you can open a discussion about it with them. Best of luck with building this article further! --Grnrchst (talk) 19:07, 18 July 2025 (UTC)

Hi Grnrchst, would you mind removing the hold on the GA review? I’ve begun making the edits and I’ll ping you when they’re all done. ꧁Zanahary꧂ 16:47, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Zanahary: Holding is just a way of marking a review to allow time for the issues to be addressed (see WP:GAN/I#HOLD), it's not a bad thing. --Grnrchst (talk) 16:57, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- Sure, but the nominal seven-day deadline concerns me. If that’s not in effect, then I have no concerns. ꧁Zanahary꧂ 16:58, 20 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Zanahary: The seven day thing is more of a guideline than a hard deadline. Don't worry, it takes an exceptional amount of time inactive before I feel the need to close a review that's been on hold (most recent case was after months of it being open, without any progress from the nominator). --Grnrchst (talk) 17:01, 20 July 2025 (UTC)

2025 visit by Donald Trump to the Middle East
Your good article review borders on WP:ANI-level criticisms of me personally. To list some issues:
- I was not made aware of certain changes made after the nomination, such as the space after the parentheses in section titles. Looking at the edit history, it seems to be a script-related mistake. Do not accuse me of making changes I didn't make.
- Per WP:RSP, there is no source I included that is not reliable. While it might be preferable to use general articles, quickfailing based on the use of live posts is near-sighted.
- I was vague on details either because no information exists or because it would veer into intricate and useless details.
It would have been useful for me to address these points in your review. Instead, you quickfailed and closed it on false assumptions, including reference style at one point; it is acceptable that the "full title of the BBC article" is in the citation, it is acceptable that the article omits certain details as long as it is "broad in its coverage", and it is acceptable that each event, including dinners and tours, that Trump partook in was mentioned. The good article criteria is not the featured article criteria. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 22:11, 21 July 2025 (UTC)
- 1. I never accused you.
- 2. It's near-sighted to use live reactions. I was asking for enduring coverage.
- 3. Maybe that's the problem.
- I quick-failed it because I thought it was a long way off GA criteria and I stand by that. --Grnrchst (talk) 22:20, 21 July 2025 (UTC)
- Perhaps it wasn't wise to get personal and say "Did you not see these?" then. I don't see who else you were talking to there. I am in my right to formally dispute this. This isn't an "I thought" matter, this is an objective matter. Thank you for the limited notes you did give. elijahpepe@wikipedia (he/him) 22:31, 21 July 2025 (UTC)

Thank you today for Gaetano Bresci, introduced: "Gaetano Bresci was the notorious assassin of the Italian king Umberto I. He was arguably one of the most consequential assassins of the early 20th century, inspiring adoration from members of the anarchist movement and instilling fear in state officials. I first learned about him when I saw his name graffiti'd on a wall in my city, which made me interested enough in his story to write this biography."! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:25, 29 July 2025 (UTC)

User:Nettrom/sandbox/WikiProject_Law_stub_predictions
I'm using this as my checklist. I'll verify all the sources in Lawlessness just in case. Bearian (talk) 11:39, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
- I could verify 7/8 references with a click and a few seconds.
- The relevant criteria are:
.Multiple links that help explain or illustrate the topic; A subheading that fully treats an element of the topic; Multiple subheadings that indicate material that could be added to complete the article
- Citations are not technically required for a start-class law article; a list of references is sufficient. As a heuristic, I use the "3 references minimum" for a stub and "7 references minimum" for "sufficient sources" for a start-class article.
- What did I do wrong? Bearian (talk) 11:51, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Bearian: The issue wasn't the references in the bibliography, it was the citation in the text. The Pink News article never talks about lawlessness, so I removed it because it failed verification. The last remaining sentence that you added is completely uncited, so currently reads as original research. So long as the article's text is less than 250 words or 1,500 characters in prose, and it doesn't provide meaningful information to the reader (which this doesn't), it'll still be a stub. The bibliography doesn't change that. --Grnrchst (talk) 12:13, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
- Got it. My edit summaries tend to be short but clear. I was confused by your edit summary. Bearian (talk) 12:18, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
- Would you consider Statute of Wills to be a stub or start? Bearian (talk) 16:35, 19 August 2025 (UTC)

Outrageously false Wikipedia Musk biography data, especially strikes his "EDUCATION", the only one I reviewed
Hi, I'm writing this as you seem to be only one of the few who are interested / motivated to correct Musk's wikipedia biography data. I spent about 2 days reading court cases about Elon Musk, including his depositions, evidence, and complaints dating to 1990s and find his "Education" part article outrageously false, fabricated and up for removal. It's a shame for Wikipedia to have this on one of the most-read articles on the Wikipedia, that has 99% of the world populations, simply trusts.
- Elon Musk has no degree in Physics, only bs in economics. All sources cited rely on Vance's book, which is BASED on what MUSK said to her. I've searched all data on the internet, including court deposition, where Musk was caught lying on deposition in 2007, here are (just some, simplified for you) sources, – https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1zPeWaaCZHqfq0tnkPwc61A6bGHySdj91
- The notion "wrote a business plan for an electronic book-scanning service similar to Google Books" cites article by the British Guardian, which is based on their interview with Musk himself (as Guardian replied to me in an recent email I can show).
- The notion that "Musk held two internships" relies on Vance's book, self-interviewed. No one from Pinnacle Research Institute specifically had ever stepped up and confirmed it in ANY form. The company had a big presence in 90s.
- The notion of "his acceptance to a graduate program in materials science at Stanford" is wrong, as there's no one who's ever confirmed Elon's acceptance, nor anyone who remembers him and there's no possible to verify it without Elon Musk's (confirmation). Information on it is substantially revealed in the lawsuits against him, where he was forced to reveal information (some of the lawsuits mentioned in the link above). Furthermore, there was no such department as "material science" at Stanford in 90s; at the time he claims acceptance, he didn't have graduation diploma from Wharton (which he, as confirmed in court depositions, had NOT received until 1997), Stanford would had never accepted ANY student against its own protocols (someone without a diploma). Stanford acceptance doesn't exist. Neither anyone from the faculty remembers reviewing his application.
- The notion "applying for a job at Netscape" is based on Musk's own self-given interviews to CNBC (which it was happy to provide him with due to the views and publicity).
- The rest two sentences are based on what "Musk has said". Everything is a blunt lie and it's heart-breaking to read it publicly.
I couldn't not proceed further because, apparently, everything is fabricated and I just wanted to start with a little note (this note with you), as you are the only who can do a change on Wikipedia and has power to do it.
Reading court cases and his depositions and the lies that he fed court is utterly painful (nevertheless it still recommended as all of his court cases against him must be read by anyone to see how much of a swindler he is).
Since I cannot edit, neither semi-edit, I reach out to you as the only remedy either to reach out to Wikipedia / or edit / lead discussion with Wikipedia yourself.
Thank you very much for reading it! Ruslanhonchar1997 (talk) 17:44, 23 August 2025 (UTC)

WikiCup 2025 September newsletter
The fourth round of the 2025 WikiCup ended on 29 August. The penultimate round saw three contestants score more than 800 points:
BeanieFan11 (submissions) with 1,175 round points, mainly from sports-related articles, including 17 good articles, 27 did you know articles, and 9 in the news articles
Arconning (submissions) with 1,090 round points, mainly from articles about athletes and politicians, including a featured article on Philippines at the 1924 Summer Olympics, 9 good articles, 28 did you know articles, and a wide assortment of featured and good article reviews
AirshipJungleman29 (submissions) with 854 round points, mostly from a high-scoring featured article on the Indian leader Rani of Jhansi and two good articles, in addition to 13 featured and good article reviews
Everyone who competed in Round 4 will advance to Round 5 unless they have withdrawn. This table shows all competitors who have received tournament points so far, while the full scores for Round 4 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 9 featured articles, 12 featured lists, 98 good articles, 9 good topic articles, more than 150 reviews, nearly 100 did you know articles, and 18 in the news articles.
In advance of the fifth and final round, the judges would like to thank every contestant for their hard work. As a reminder, any content promoted after 29 August but before the start of Round 5 can be claimed in Round 5. In addition, note that Round 5 will end on 31 October at 23:59 UTC. Awards at the end of Round 5 will be distributed based on who has the most tournament points over all five rounds, and special awards will be distributed based on high performance in particular areas of content creation (e.g., most featured articles in a single round).
Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges – Cwmhiraeth (talk · contribs), Epicgenius (talk · contribs), Frostly (talk · contribs), Guerillero (talk · contribs) and Lee Vilenski (talk · contribs) – are reachable on their talk pages. question
Hello! I noticed that you follow Spanish-Civil-War-related articles. My question is not related to you personally, and I don't know who to ask, so I ask you, sorry
A user reverts my edits and claims that although the sources describe him as a formal leader (Jefe Nacional) of the party, they do not call him a "member" of the party directly (similarly how the RS about Mussolini do not use the word "member" in relation to PNF), so assigning Franco to FET-JONS breaks WP:SYNTH, according to that user. More to it, the sources also state that all military officers and government officials were nominal members of FET-JONS, but the user says that assigning Franco and other Francoist military officers (of the period) to FET-JONS by citing these sources also breaks WP:SYNTH, since the general statement cannot be applied to specific instances, and one needs to find a source directly saying some exact officer had a nominal membership in the party. Is the user right about it? 2.63.183.49 (talk) 19:58, 30 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Grnrchst sorry for ping and if it is silly and inappropriate, still, i ask you to aswer the question or to tell me where it would be more appropriate for me to ask it 2.63.183.200 (talk) 07:04, 13 September 2025 (UTC)

Women in Green's 9th Edit-a-thon

Hello Grnrchst:
WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Editathon event in October 2025!
Running from October 1 to 31, 2025, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) editathon event with the theme What Women Do! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 different occupations or professions (or broader roles in society) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.
We hope to see you there!

Rufus Segar
@Grnrchst: I very much hope that you are keeping well. We haven't communicated for a little while now. And I hope that you won't find this request unmeritorious. I should be extremely grateful if you had the time to cast your expert eye on the above page about a previously neglected anarchist in the context of a possible upgrade of it.John Desmond (talk) John Desmond (talk) 16:04, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
- @John Desmond: Hi there! Good to see you again, I'm always happy to give others' articles a wee read. Some notes I have:
- The lead could be a bit longer and more detailed, in order to provide an accessible overview of the subject. That he was an anarchist for his whole life is less interesting than what he did during that life.
- Birth date should be included in the first sentence of the "Early life" section.
- You could be a bit more concise and just say Segar's father was a pharmacist, there's no need to have two attributed sentences repeating such a small detail.
"setting up various ill-starred business ventures"
Don't see why this quote can't be summarised in wikivoice."While he was taking his A-level in art, his teacher led him to enrol [...]"
Think this takes the agency away from Segar a bit; you could just say "He then enrolled" or something similar."One of the residents was Harold Sculthorpe, [...]"
What does any of this stuff about Sculthorpe have to do with Segar? It all seems a bit tangential."However, from 1964 to 1982,"
You could drop the "However," as it doesn't seem like this sentence contradicts the preceding one.- There seems to be an inconsistency in whether single or double quotation marks are being used; per the Manual of Style.
Freedom
should link to Freedom (British newspaper), as this is the first time we're mentioning it.- The "Designing the covers for Anarchy magazine" section is rather overreliant on lengthy quotes. I'd recommend rewriting and condensing some of these into summary style.
- I've tagged where citations are needed.
- Overall, it's looking pretty good! Nice work on this. --Grnrchst (talk) 19:51, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Grnrchst: Thank you very much for your extremely prompt and detailed response to my request which I greatly appreciate. I will action the points that you have made as soon as I can. Thank you very much again. John Desmond (talk) 16:17, 8 October 2025 (UTC)

Check article for Women in Green event
Hey @Grnrchst, thanks for hosting this month's Women in Green event. I am wondering if articles like Open water swimming at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships – Women's 5 km are eligible for this event? The wording of the event page makes me think so, but all the entries so far have been perfectly inkeeping with the format of women's biographies, so I just want to make sure. IAWW (talk) 10:06, 12 October 2025 (UTC)
- @It is a wonderful world: I think it should be fine to submit it. As all the women involved are swimmers, this could safely be put under "Swimmer" as occupation. --Grnrchst (talk) 10:15, 12 October 2025 (UTC)

Virginia Bolten
Hi. I don't know if this is the appropriate way to contact you. I've never edited a Wikipedia article. However, I've noticed there is a discrepancy between the Spanish and English articles for Virginia Bolten. The Spanish article's date of birth for her is December 26th 1876 whereas the English article shows December 26th 1870. The Spanish article has a section called "Entre la historia y el mito" (Between history and myth) which details the work of 3 researchers who found her birth certificate establishing her actual date of birth.
I would be very happy to aid in any translation work necessary to reconcile the two versions of the article (I'm a native Spanish speaker).
Thanks in advance for your work on this article regardless of this discrepancy! — Preceding unsigned comment added by AzuraMarina (talk • contribs) 17:59, 13 October 2025 (UTC)
- @AzuraMarina: Hey there. This is something I'm aware of and this research is covered at length by Steve Shone, in one of the sources in the further reading. I just haven't gotten around to integrating into the article yet, as I've been unrelentingly busy these past few months. I'll fix this eventually, but I have too many things on my plate right now. No need for translation, as I'm fluent in Spanish, but thanks for offering. --Grnrchst (talk) 18:04, 13 October 2025 (UTC)

Help with GA review
Hello! I'm contacting you because you've listed yourself as a GA mentor, so I hope you'll be ok with providing some input (no pressure though). I've taken up the article Lombard House, London to do a GA review. Unfortunately, the article has several significant issues, mainly extreme reliance on primary sources bordering on original research, some statements entirely lacking inline citations (tags added by me), and at one point launching into a rather off topic listing of all the buildings which made an impression on the person who the building was built for (and whose memoirs are cited no less than 12 times). As this is my first GA review, I would love to get confirmation from someone more experienced than me on whether this would be acceptable to fail.
Thanks in advance! JustARandomSquid (talk) 19:55, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
- Just to clarify, I wasn't planning to quick-fail it, I would give it a review on all the criteria. JustARandomSquid (talk) 20:01, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
- @JustARandomSquid: Per what you've said, it seems like this would fail criteria 2b, 2c and 3b. The question of whether to fail the review is down to: if you think it could be fixed with a little work, then you can put the review on hold while the nominator works on it; if you think the problems are deep-rooted and/or systemic, then it's absolutely fair to close the review as having failed. --Grnrchst (talk) 20:18, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
- I've failed it, feel free to check my work if you have nothing better to do. Thanks for the advice! JustARandomSquid (talk) 09:57, 17 October 2025 (UTC)

DCWC closing update
Two weeks ago, the 2025 Developing Countries WikiContest came to a close! After three months of stiff competition at the top of the leaderboard, we have our winners.
vigilantcosmicpenguin (submissions), continuing his work on covering abortion in Africa, comes in third with 692 points.
simongraham (submissions) comes in second with 763 points, largely from a slew of good articles about jumping spiders. And returning to the podium for the second year in a row,
BeanieFan11 (submissions) takes the Gold Belt Buckle with a mind-boggling 946 points from his series of articles on sportpersons. Congratulations to our winners!
Amazingly, the award for the most countries covered goes to both
BeanieFan11 (submissions) and simongraham (submissions), who each submitted articles under 30 flags!
BeanieFan11 (submissions) also wins for writing the most quality articles (16 good articles). For submitting 16 articles related to El Salvador,
PizzaKing13 (submissions) wins the award for most submissions under one country. The award for most submissions related to women goes to both Spookyaki (submissions) (7 biographies about women) and
vigilantcosmicpenguin (submissions) (21 related articles). And for the second year, simongraham (submissions) wins for the most reviews, having submitted 21!
Among the participants' contributions were 2 FAs, 5 FLs, 124 GAs, and an uncounted number of DYKs, ITNs, and reviews of every kind! Regardless of your level of participation, every contestant can be proud to have contributed towards a major step in countering the systemic bias on Wikipedia. Every year, millions of readers and editors around the globe use Wikipedia to educate themselves and communicate with others about parts of the world that often receive less attention than they deserve. Thank you for participating with us in the contest and contributing to this effort. The DCWC will return next year, and we look forward to seeing you contribute again! However, before that...
We need your feedback! Join the conversation on the talk page to discuss your reflections on the contest (even if you didn't participate!) and help us make it better.

Its the Centro Studi Internazionali, for which I've only just discovered an article exists. So I've tried to add it to the project, in the hope that other participants might find it useful. If you consider it potentially worthwhile and have the time, perhaps you might be minded to ascertain whether I've succeeded in my attempt in its talk page. DYK for Marie Goldsmith
On 3 December 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Marie Goldsmith, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Nestor Makhno described the evolutionary biologist Marie Goldsmith (pictured) as one of the "titans of anarchism"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Marie Goldsmith. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Marie Goldsmith), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to nominate it.
