Impact Data
Hey, I just wanted to know how do you show impact data on your user page. Is it hardcoded or is there any tool for this? Overandoutnerd (talk) 13:47, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
- Heya, that's a transclusion of the Special:Impact page. You can add yours with {{Special:Impact/Overandoutnerd}} LaffyTaffer💬(she/they) 14:25, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
Eliana Rubashkyn
I noted your interest in my edits on Eliana Rubashkyn's page, I wanted to confirm your intent as I was reflecting a primary source and the recent updates available in her substack. Maybe better wording of more references will help you consider future revisions?. ~2025-31216-54 (talk) 15:29, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- Heya, I'm going to assume you're Aerokremnos (try not to edit while logged out), I left a message on that account's talk page regarding the edits to Eliana Rubashkyn. I'll also direct you to WP:BLP as I noted in my revert summaries. Thanks :) LaffyTaffer💬(she/they) 16:02, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
Blocked as a proxy
Posting this from my phone to help confirm that I am the one who just emailed VRT requesting IP block exemption since my computer is on a VPN.
I guess I actually have to do work while I'm at my job today lol LaffyTaffer💬(she/they) 15:23, 14 November 2025 (UTC)

I baked you a sweet treat cupcake to spread a little WikiLove! Thanks so much for sharing those resources and for being so kind and supportive in your edits. I am still learning the ropes and doing my best. Thank you!— Preceding unsigned comment added by Everprincely (talk • contribs)
- Took the liberty of refactoring this a bit while retaining how you presumably intended this to be sent, not sure what happened there.
- Anyhow, happy to help. You've had a much rougher start than most here, but I can tell you're doing your best to figure things out which is admirable. Wikipedia is imposing between the vast amount of policies and the sometimes idiosyncratic ways editors communicate with each other even when we disagree.
- Now for some unsolicited advice:
- From my outside perspective of what's been happening, I think the main hurdle you'll need to get past is recognizing how editors tend to communicate here. Messages tend to be quite blunt, but that's not the same as being rude, which I think is how you've taken them. Most of what it seems you've percieved as attacks or bad faith have simply been explanations of policy(aside from that accusation of sarcastic insults made at you, which I'm just as confused about as you are).
- You need to back up claims of misbehavior with evidence (either with diffs or directly linking the url of the edit in the page history) or it's casting aspersions, which as was pointed out yesterday, is a personal attack. If you do genuinely experience misbehavior though, do your best to resolve the matter yourself, and if that fails then file a report at WP:Administrators Noticeboard/Incidents (read the top of that page carefully first).
- I know I said I'd leave it between you two, and this part is simply personal rather than any policy, but I really would recommend reading through those blanked talk page messages and take some time to recgonize why the way you spoke to and about Swatjester was extremely rude at best, even if they were also being harsh towards you. An apology on their talk page isn't required, but it would show quite a bit of candor and would hopefully squash some of the bad blood now that the heat has died down.
- Apologies for that turning into a lecture, wasn't how I intended this message to go, but my head isn't were it's usually at right now. I'll leave it at this: I've made a lot of mistakes up to this point while learning how to be part of this community, and I'm going to make a lot more in the future. The same applies to everyone else on the site, what's important is learning from those mistakes. I think you have the potential to be a valuable contributor to Wikipedia, and if you keep learning as you've demonstrated you're doing, you're going to do fine.
- Best, LaffyTaffer💬(she/they) 17:01, 21 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for the kind words and feedback @LaffyTaffer. I always appreciate guidance, resources and feedback. I always like to see life as one big learning journey. =)
- Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Swatjester. I read and reread the full chat several times and even consulted a few friends and AI tools. I don't want to take up any more space on your talk page as I'm not yet sure about how the talk page real estate here works so apologies here. I've noticed that folks tend to blank out pages frequently, which is what I've tried to replicate. I blanked out my page because I had no more comments to make. I had said my thoughts, thanked folks for resources and wished folks all the best. I have moved on.
- My final position is as follows: I am a kind person, as I'm sure you've noticed from how I wrote, but I'm also not someone's punching bag and I do believe many of this person's comments were written, at best, in a hostile and escalatory manner. Put yourself in my shoes and reread the comments and track the timestamps. I understand that there's a camaraderie here among veteran editors that is admirable but I am a newcomer. 90% of the comments were helpful and written with a generosity of spirit that was welcoming but firm in providing advice. That advice was helpful and I went out of my way to thank those folks, including yourself. However, this person's comments were just not helpful. In other spaces beyond Wikipedia, there's always an understanding that the onus or burden of modeling good behaviors falls on the "veterans" since they are the ones with all the experience. Thus, to keep things civil, I just think this is a situation where this person and I should just part ways, avoid each other and move on. They have a different writing style and model behaviors different from my own and that's totally fine. Different strokes for different folks and that is totally ok! For myself, I will commit to learning the policies as best as I can and continuing to write in my own way, which tends to be on the thankful/positive/moving on side.
