Apologies, something went wrong with my edit, and deleted the information completely by accident. Thanks for the fix. Foristslow (talk) 22:46, 25 September 2025 (UTC)
GS/AA and food wars
Hey, just reaching out to you because a comment you made at Talk:Dolma was cited in an ANI report. Edits that assert/dispute Armenia origins of foods (especially when counterposed to Ottoman/Turkic origins) and other cultural patrimony are covered by WP:GS/AA's restrictions, and as such, your advice here was incorrect. signed, Rosguill talk 15:18, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
- Oh. Thanks for the heads-up. I've responded there. Largoplazo (talk) 15:28, 28 October 2025 (UTC)
Lao script rendering support info
I added the rendering support notice on the page about the Lao script. I want it. PrinceAzuka134 (talk) 00:26, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
- Will it surprise you that I have no idea what you're talking about? Largoplazo (talk) 01:53, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
TAIV granted

Hello, Largoplazo. Per your request, your account has been granted temporary-account-viewer rights. You are now able to reveal the IP addresses of individuals using temporary accounts that are not visible to the general public. This is very sensitive information that is only to be used to aid in anti-abuse workflows. Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Temporary account IP viewer for more information on this user right. It is important to remember:
- You must not share IP address data with someone who does not have the same access permissions unless disclosure is permissible as per guidelines listed at Foundation:Policy:Wikimedia Access to Temporary Account IP Addresses Policy.
- Access must not be used for political control, to apply pressure on editors, or as a threat against another editor in a content dispute. There must be a valid reason to investigate a temporary user. Note that using multiple temporary accounts is not forbidden, so long as they are not used in violation of policies (for example, block or ban evasion).
It is also important to note that the following actions are logged for others to see:
- When a user accepts the preference that enables or disables IP reveal for their account.
- Revealing an IP address of a temporary account.
- Listing the temporary accounts that are associated with one or more IP addresses (using the CIDR notation format).
Remember, even if a user is violating policy, avoid revealing personal information if possible. Use temporary account usernames rather than disclosing IP addresses directly, or give information such as same network/not same network or similar. If you do not want the user right anymore then please ask me or another administrator and it will be removed for you. You may also voluntarily give up access at any time by visiting Special:Preferences. Happy editing! -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (they|xe|🤷) 16:59, 7 November 2025 (UTC)
Draft:Trinidadian French-Creole
Hello there, can I just clarify what is going on here with the above draft. I am not the submitting editor, but originally I was the AFC editor. I declined the draft for a number of reasons, but mainly sourcing. The submitting editor then reached out for advice / help and we are in the middle of that. There is some background on my Talk page giving more details. At the moment I am trying to shift the article towards something that she would accept, so what you are seeing at the moment is very much draft of a draft. Now naturally any editor can edit any draft, but this is work in progress, and I don't know what the submitting editor will make of this yet. It just looks like a mini edit war, but that's not what anyone is trying to do here. ChrysGalley (talk) 21:46, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
- @ChrysGalley Thanks for the context. If it looked like I was being cantankerous, I didn't mean to be, I was just trying to add some shape to the article. I haven't looked at the preceding editing patterns such that I would have had any sense that warring was going on. Anyway, I'm done for now. Largoplazo (talk) 22:30, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
- That's absolutely fine @Largoplazo, thanks for the reply, and in one sense we were both saying quite similar things, it may have looked a bit strange to the submitter.
- One area where your thoughts would be good to hear: you note about how language grammar sections generally have a particular structure, and I can see that is certainly the case for main languages. TFC is very hybrid, with not so many speakers now (I would guess under 3,000). When I look at the other hybrids, such as Bay Islands English, Turks and Caicos Creole English even Mosquitian Creole - which are much larger hybrids, there typically isn't much detail provided and realistically a full morphology on hybrids is a bit of a stretch. Bahamanian does have a lot more detail, but that's got 300,000 speakers and been going for quite a while. What would you say is a reasonable target for a hybrid of 3,000 speakers? Clearly more than there is now, but what is realistic? ChrysGalley (talk) 22:50, 17 November 2025 (UTC)
Articles for Creation backlog drive

Hello Largoplazo:
WikiProject Articles for creation is holding a month long Backlog Drive in December!
The goal of this drive is to reduce the backlog of unreviewed drafts to less than half a month of outstanding reviews from the current 2+ months. Bonus points will be given for reviewing drafts that have been waiting more than 30 days. The drive is running from 1 December 2025 through 31 December 2025.
You may find Category:AfC pending submissions by age or other categories and sorting helpful.
Barnstars will be given out as awards at the end of the drive.
There is a backlog of over 3000 pages, so start reviewing drafts. We're looking forward to your help! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:07, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
- If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself from the mailing list or alternatively to opt-out of all massmessage mailings, you may add Category:Wikipedians who opt out of message delivery to your user talk page.

Transcontinental spread
As an amusing side note, the Grokipedia article for Turkey opens with an explanation of why Turkey is transcontinental before it gets to any other information. It takes our bad writing as well as our good. CMD (talk) 10:35, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

DAB1 vs DABONE
"DAB1 is linked from only one place" because I just created it. If we could list only "common" shortcuts we would never be able to replace a shortcut with a clearly superior one. DAB1 is shorter and has a clear word boundary, whereas DABONE does not and is easily misread as "da bone". Nardog (talk) 13:10, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- @Nardog OK, I see. In that case, if the number of links to DABONE were 4,900, I'd say that you still need to leave it in addition to DAB1, but with only 49 links I guess it's not so famous a shortcut that it needs to be kept. I've undone my reversion. Largoplazo (talk) 13:44, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
