Impact Integrated is a strategic non-profit catalytic agency in Malaysia which was established in 2019 under the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Malaysia) as a Company Limited by Guarantee to focus on three pillars namely youth, esports and media.

The agency operates several vehicles to achieve these objectives including Impact Malaysia (the holding company), Rakita 107.9 (a youth radio station), Esports Integrated (esports agency), Spacerubix (integrated youth and sports facility), Picksum and mySukan TV.[1]

Impact Integrated has been referred to as a "social conglomerate" given its holding company structure encompassing multiple different entities with different social impact mandates.[2]

History

Impact Integrated was formed following the dissolution of 1Malaysia for Youth (1M4U), an initiative created to encourage volunteerism amongst Malaysian youth as an extension of the 1Malaysia doctrine during the Barisan National government in Malaysia.

In 2018, 1M4U which was overseen by the Prime Minister's Office of Malaysia was dissolved and Impact Integrated was formed the following year in 2019 as its successor and placed under the purview of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Malaysia).

As part of the transition, the focus of the agency was shifted from volunteerism towards equipping Malaysian youth to take part in catalysing impact for social development.

Youth entrepreneur Ahmed Faris Amir was hired as Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2019 as part of the team tasked with executing the new mandate.[3]

Mandate and initiatives

Impact Integrated started with various different subsidiaries and initiatives which were empowered to execute its different mandates:

  • Impact Malaysia: facilitates connections between youth and third sector practitioners which include non-governmental organisations and social enterprises to run and measure the impact of social projects.
  • Rakita: a radio station that focuses on youth and the local indie music scene.
  • Spacerubix: a modern sports complex and event space located in Puchong.
  • Picksum: an e-commerce marketplace featuring curated offerings to support youth entrepreneurs.

In 2020, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Malaysia) launched Esports Integrated under Impact Integrated to facilitate the development of esports athletes and the grassroots esports scene via the upskilling of event organisers, team managers and coaches.[2][4]

In 2021, Impact Integrated collaborated with Techninier, a Malaysian technology company, to develop and manage a national esports tournament platform, Esukan.gg.[5] The same year, Esports Integrated announced the construction of a national esports hub at Spacerubix under the national sports allocation of Malaysia's 2020 Budget.[6]

In 2025, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Malaysia) launched the KBS Esports Fund (DEK) with an allocation of RM1.5 million to support the growth of the rapidly expanding esports sector.[7]

Governance and structure

Impact Integrated was formed as an Company Limited by Guarantee with the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Malaysia) and Ministry of Finance (Malaysia) as its shareholders.
