Tyner Rushing is an American actress known for her role portraying Emma Smith in FX on Hulu's Under the Banner of Heaven.[1][2][3][4] Other notable roles include Liz Riley in The Terminal List [5][6][7][8] and Virginia Creel in Stranger Things.[9][10] Rushing joined the main cast of For All Mankind in its fourth season as the character Samantha Massey, a blue-collar space worker and aspiring astronaut.[11][12] In 2025, she joined the cast of the HBO supernatural horror television series It: Welcome to Derry and Hulu’s Murdaugh: Death in the Family.[13]
Early life and education
Rushing grew up in rural Alabama on a farm and plant nursery.[14][15][16] She got her start in the performing arts world as a singer and dancer in various musicals and operas.[17]
Personal life
Rushing is queer.[18] She lives in Los Angeles.[19]
