Question from Gordon.m.phillips (18:58, 22 October 2025)
Hello,
Question from Wollenberg61craig (18:26, 9 January 2026)
Hello, How do I update the picture for an article about a person? --Wollenberg61craig (talk) 18:26, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Wollenberg61craig: Most images on Wikipedia are hosted on Wikimedia Commons. If an image has been uploaded there (or after you've uploaded one), you can replace the relevant image on the person's article by linking to it. More information is available here; let me know if you have any questions! AviationFreakš¬ 20:04, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
Question from JCSlade (15:55, 11 January 2026)
Hi AF,
I had a question about changing contribution assignment for some edits I made, prior to creating an account. Is there any way to have the contribution link to my actual account rather than my guest account (~2026-22584-8)? I know it's not really a massive deal, I'm just a bit finnicky about specifics/details.
Regards,
JCS. --JCSlade (talk) 15:56, 11 January 2026 (UTC)
- @JCSlade: Hi! I understand being finnicky about details, but unfortunately I don't believe there's a way to do this. Let me know if there's anything else you have questions about! AviationFreakš¬ 17:41, 11 January 2026 (UTC)
Beta Blockers
Health newsletter reporting large studies showing that beta blockers are not effective.
(spam link removed) Slmathews77 (talk) 19:59, 13 January 2026 (UTC)
- @Slmathews77: This is not a reliable medical source; the URL begins with "marketing" and the page is intended to encourage people to sign up for a medical procedure of dubious effectiveness, so far as I can tell. I have commented out the link so as to make it not appear on my talk page. If you would like to discuss the cited study and the possibility of including it in the beta blocker article, the appropriate forum is at Talk:Beta blocker. Question from TechEditor2026 (21:43, 17 January 2026)
Hi AviationFreak,
Iām new to Wikipedia and recently submitted a biography draft about myself via Articles for Creation, with a conflict of interest declaration.
I want to make sure Iām following best practices while waiting for review. Could you please let me know if there is anything obvious I should improve or avoid at this stage?
Thank you for your time and guidance. --TechEditor2026 (talk) 21:43, 17 January 2026 (UTC)
- @TechEditor2026: Hi - I'd encourage you to read this page for an overview of why creating your own autobiography is generally discouraged. As far as your draft specifically, it has been rejected as the subject is not sufficiently notable for Wikipedia. At this point there is not much to be done until/unless additional sources come to exist that demonstrate notability. Let me know if you have any other questions! AviationFreakš¬ 01:57, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
- Hi AviationFreak,
- Thank you for taking the time to review my draft and for explaining the notability requirements clearly. I understand the decision and appreciate the guidance.
- I will focus on building additional independent, significant coverage before considering any future resubmission.
- Thanks again for your time.
- Best regards,

Guidelines for cutting down articles?
Hey, I was looking to help improve the page of interacial marriage, and one of the issue notes is that its too long to read. A few users agree with the post in the talk page (with no objections) that it needs to be trimmed down (18k works), and that a lot of the included information is not strictly relevant (A lot of it overly focuses on statistics of interacial relationships in every country in depth which isn't needed). So I wanted to go ahead and try to trim out a lot of uneccesary information from the 18,000 word article, but I'm unaware of the policies for doing such and I don't want to be destructive or mistaken for a vandal. Is it acceptable for me to go in on my own, be bold, and delete and condense massive swaths of article by my own judgement? What guidelines exist that I should follow? What are best practices to follow? Should I edit little by little over time or can I make one massive edit that summarizes a lot or irrelevant data or moves it to a new article? Also what's the procedure for splitting, because that's one potential solution I might look into. Thanks! Wik206 (talk) 07:32, 29 January 2026 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) This information page has the procedure for splitting! However, you also might want to look at WP:Summary style for your other option. - Flower (she/her) 17:22, 29 January 2026 (UTC)
