Don't dump older articles in the Draft: namespace

WP:DRAFTNO established an age limit of 90 days for articles that can be unilaterally moved to the Draft: namespace, so I've reverted your move of Hadu tribe.

More generally, the Draft: namespace is m:where articles go to die. If you want to see articles improved, either WP:FIXIT yourself (for that article, merely reverting most of the previous edit probably would have been enough) or tag it in the hope that someone else will. Something most editors forget is that the main directive for Wikipedia:Articles for creation is notability, rather than looking nice, being well-written, being longer than a stub, etc. If the AFC reviewer believes that an WP:UGLY little article would survive a trip to AFD, then they're supposed to be accepting it and moving it to the mainspace. Sudanese Civil War timeline

Could you explain why you removed my edit in Timeline of the Sudanese civil war (2025)? You cited notnews. But its a timeline, and that is something notable that happened, that is relevant for the timeline. Pencilceaser123 (talk) 00:43, 6 November 2025 (UTC)

This a list of actual events, not insertion of random commentary regardless of whether it is sourced, nor is this a timeline of when news reports about ongoing activities such as grave digging were published. Borgenland (talk) 00:45, 6 November 2025 (UTC)
I think estimates of 68,000+ dead warrants being on a timeline. Considering it's so much higher than other estimates Pencilceaser123 (talk) 00:51, 6 November 2025 (UTC)
It could be if they all died on that day, which is not the case here. Furthermore that is an observation, not an event. Borgenland (talk) 01:05, 6 November 2025 (UTC)
fair enough, should I prehaps edit the part on the day the massacre begun to say "estimates range from 2,500 to higher than 68,000" or something along those lines Pencilceaser123 (talk) 01:40, 6 November 2025 (UTC)
Yes. At the same time I highly suggest being careful with adjectives. Borgenland (talk) 02:22, 6 November 2025 (UTC)

Edit on JSP

Hi

On the Jan Suraaj Party page, I noticed you had made an edit to the references. Can you please explain that edit? Here's the edit link: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Jan_Suraaj_Party&oldid=1320721662

Thanks! Kingsacrificer (talk) 10:35, 8 November 2025 (UTC)

It’s a bunch of fixes made to correct malformed parameters and labels, especially since some editors are not diligent enough to determine that no person is named Mr./Ms. ABP News for example. Borgenland (talk) 10:38, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
Ahh alright. Whenever I use references, I use the automatic one which generates a ref based on article links. Kingsacrificer (talk) 18:02, 8 November 2025 (UTC)

All-Around Amazing Barnstar
I want to give this barnstar as a gift because you have significantly contributed to many politics-related articles, as well as to P-pop and OPM music, especially to Bini and the debut studio album of Maki's Kolorcoaster. I hope this barnstar motivates you to contribute even more in 2026. ROY is WAR Talk! 13:30, 24 December 2025 (UTC)

Congo demographics

Hey there, I was going through the Demographics of the Democratic Republic of the Congo page and fixing it after the debacle yesterday. Used the Permalink/1329540706 revision as a reference. It was a total mess, so I would appreciate another set of eyes to check my work. --Gurkubondinn (talk) 12:05, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

I'll see what I can do. So far, the page lags a bit when it comes to displaying some charts and there are some numbers having these weird colors in the table for no apparent reason. Borgenland (talk) 12:09, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

Year in country pages

Hello! I saw you're active on the x year in Germany and Spain pages, probably others too. Since ur more experienced than me here I just wanted to ask to confirm if my recent edits, removing the links from the bolded title, have been sound. Thanks! Ezra Fox🦊(talk) 23:19, 2 January 2026 (UTC)

Actually these types of pages have remarkably few native eyes to look at, hence why I take on the responsibility for content if necessary. Usually I am lenient to those circumstances and only take MOS strictly when the bolded title is needlessly described (x is what x type of things). Borgenland (talk) 02:51, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
Hmm? I'm not sure what you mean. Are you talking about MOS:AVOIDBOLD? I agree that in this case bolding is fine, it's probably fine either way. I'm talking about how often the title is bolded, but also still includes a link, such as to the country. Which violates MOS:BOLDLINKAVOID. That violation to me seems clear enough to warrant the change, although I agree it's not a big deal Ezra Fox🦊(talk) 08:24, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
I mean I certainly won’t tolerate if one opens the article as x in y refers to events that happened during X in Y per redundancy rules. Aside from that I think one should also take into account MOS:GEO. Borgenland (talk) 08:27, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
Yeah. I mean like one example is a page that starts like this: "The following events occurred in Germany in the year 1855." I think that's perfectly fine. Then another example is like this: "Events from the year 1856 in Germany." I think that's also perfectly fine. However many pages currently look like this: "Events from the year 1858 in Germany." This violates MOS:AVOIDBOLD, because Germany is both bolded and linked. So I've been changing those to simply read 1858 in Germany, removing the link. Maybe I'm being too persnickety tho Ezra Fox🦊(talk) 08:34, 3 January 2026 (UTC)
I don’t think it’s much of an issue. I’d definitely be more worried if the dashes are of inconsistent length throughout the article. Borgenland (talk) 08:43, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

Talk:2026 United States strikes in Venezuela

Surprised it's already been Extended confirmed protection. Any idea why this article have made people so upset? Trade (talk) 02:31, 4 January 2026 (UTC)

Doesnt seem like he was the only one Trade (talk) 02:38, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
They were the one wearing the heaviest bull’s eye on their back, unlike others who simply made a drive-by comment, not to mention trying to make a thread for the sole purpose of WP:FORUM and WP.SEALION disruption. Borgenland (talk) 02:42, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
Do you think there have been off-site canvassing directing people to the talk page? Trade (talk) 02:45, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
I am not sure of that. As a major event that kept me up until 4 in the morning, I believe the article can attract a crowd on its own. Borgenland (talk) 02:47, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
Looks like the FORUM haven't stopped even with 30/500 Trade (talk) 04:25, 4 January 2026 (UTC)

Careful with 2026 United States strikes in Venezuela

Don't wanna violate the 3RR Trade (talk) 05:17, 4 January 2026 (UTC)

Edits like this constitute WP:NOTHERE behavior and may be an exception. Borgenland (talk) 05:18, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
Maybe but there is enough eyes on the article already so no point in taking on that risk on yourself. He might just bring you to the ANI as well Trade (talk) 05:21, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
That won't be necessary now that they're on the spot. Borgenland (talk) 05:27, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
May i ask what you have against the "Conversely, members of the Venezuelan diaspora in the United States celebrated the strikes to depose Maduro, particularly in South Florida" part? Wording could be better i admit though Trade (talk) 05:29, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
Making more WP:FORUM and WP:OR edit summaries again? I might as well believe that off-canvassing may well be going on. Borgenland (talk) 05:31, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
Yeah not the friendliest editor in the summary nor was the reason for removing photos a good one. Still, i wanna focus on the text he added Trade (talk) 05:33, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
Doesn't matter much, they have just committed 5RR. Borgenland (talk) 05:35, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
Make it 6. Borgenland (talk) 05:47, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
