Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue on the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Your experience

Thank you for your assistance at the Teahouse.

For an unconfirmed account only 2 days old, you seem to be quite knowledgeable about how Wikipedia works, suggesting that you already have ample experience on Wikipedia before you created this account. That isn't a problem, but if you have a prior account that you have abandoned, you should disclose that on your user page. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 21:13, 6 January 2026 (UTC)

Thank you for the note. I understand the concern and appreciate you raising it politely. I don’t have any previously registered Wikipedia account. Over the past six months, I’ve spent time reading Wikipedia policies, guidelines, and observing discussions, including at the Teahouse and noticeboards. I also made a few test edits earlier using temporary IPs while learning best practices, mainly to understand common mistakes new editors make and how experienced editors handle them. My goal was to start with a clean account and avoid errors that could affect my long-term editing record. I’ve also been learning a lot by carefully reading senior editors’ replies and the policy tags they apply, and then reviewing the relevant guidelines myself. That’s how I became familiar with processes before creating this account. For personal reasons, I’m not comfortable going into detail, but I was going through a difficult period in my life. Contributing to Wikipedia gave me a positive outlet and a meaningful hobby, and it helped me move away from anxiety and frustration. Over time, I’ve developed a deep respect for Wikipedia as a serious, knowledge-driven project. I’m here to contribute constructively in the long term and will continue to follow community norms and guidance.
Thank you for your understanding. Jr·NTR (talk) 21:31, 6 January 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for the reply, and welcome. We can always use constructive editors. I started in 2006, not meaning to get involved, making a few test edits like you did, and before I new it I was putting time into Wikipedia regularly. Here it is almost 20 years later and I'm still involved. There is something satisfying about maintaining an information resource that is neutral and reasonably reliable. When I want to know about a topic, I go to Wikipedia first. ~Anachronist (who / me) (talk) 16:10, 7 January 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for the welcome and for sharing your experience. I appreciate the encouragement. Jr·NTR (talk) 16:39, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

Don't reopen closed AFD discussions

If you have a problem with a recreated article, ask somebody. Don't attempt to rewrite history by altering Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sudhir Singh. BusterD (talk) 11:56, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

Understood. I won’t edit the closed AfD and will address the recreated article through the appropriate process. Jr·NTR (talk) 12:00, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
In the case of recreated subject, WP:G4 often applies. I'm glad you linked the old AFD though, because it should appear in the speedy deletion tag. Thanks for what you do! BusterD (talk) 12:08, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
BTW, good work here. Thanks. If I didn't care, I wouldn't have said anything. Don't be afraid to ask and don't be ashamed to admit error if you goofed. I've been here twenty years and I goof regularly. Not proud of it, but that's the problem with being human. The way we determine reliable sources mirrors this a bit. Often the difference between a reliable source and an unreliable one is that the RS admits errors when they make them. A wikipedian (or a source) who can't admit error is untrustworthy. BusterD (talk) 12:15, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
Thank you for the clarification. I’ll proceed using G4 where applicable and ensure the prior AfD is properly linked. Jr·NTR (talk) 12:28, 8 January 2026 (UTC)
If you don’t mind, could you please take a look at my edit strategy and share any feedback on whether my contributions have been valuable so far? I’d like to continue in the right direction. Jr·NTR (talk) 13:11, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

Lemon water

Nice! From the creator of Hop water (the WP-article, not the thing itself). Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 05:25, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

A short mention on pictures and WP/Commons: Almost all random pics you find online is under copyright and can't be used here. Annoying, yes. You can't put a "free" license on other people's pics, you can do that on pics you took yourself with your own camera. You are not the author of the lemon water pic, apparently that is someone/something called "Canva" (I'm assuming that's not you). Hope this helps some. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 05:45, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

Thanks for the clarification — image licensing noted. I’ve removed the Canva image and will stick to self-created or properly licensed files. Jr·NTR (talk) 07:09, 9 January 2026 (UTC)
