Tip of the Month:

  • Verifiability is increasingly important as AI evolves. You should ensure that every statement made
is adequately sourced. There should be no less than three independent reliable sources for each
biography, including at least one source for each paragraph.

Progress ("moving the needle"):

  • Statistics available via various tools: previously, Humaniki tool; currently, QLever. Thank you if
you contributed one or more of the 20,473 articles created in the past year.
  • 21 Oct 2024, 19.963% of biographies on EN-WP were about women (2,030,245 biographies; 405,305 women)
  • 28 Oct 2025: 20.23% of biographies on EN-WP were about women (2,094,677 biographies; 423,778 women)

Request reason:

It genuinely saddens me to see that I’m blocked on Wikipedia, a place where I’ve always tried to contribute sincerely, with honesty and without any personal gain. I was inactive for a while because of personal responsibilities, and now that I’ve returned, I’m humbly requesting to be unblocked. I recently discovered that User:Alex78695, whose name appeared in the case, is actually a male friend of mine in real life, something I truly didn’t know before I was blocked. I had no idea he was also editing Wikipedia. Sometimes at AfDs, I commented before him, and other times after him, purely by coincidence. There was never any paid or coordinated editing between us. When I asked User:Alex78695 about his multiple accounts, he told me he created new ones after forgetting his old passwords, not realizing it violated Wikipedia’s policy. I’m being fully transparent about all this because I have nothing to hide. My purpose on Wikipedia has always been to contribute positively, not to promote non-notable pages or for any personal interest. It’s also possible that our IPs matched because User:Alex78695 sometimes used my mobile hotspot and I used his mobile hotspot. I’ve already advised him to edit only from one account and always in good faith. I have deep respect for the administrators and the Wikipedia community. I truly believe in fairness and integrity. I hope that my genuine intentions, good-faith contributions, and service as a page reviewer will be considered kindly. I would be deeply disheartened if this block remains, as I’ve always valued being part of this community. If I’m not unblocked, I may not be able to return to Wikipedia again, not out of anger, but out of sadness that my sincere efforts were misunderstood. Thank you so much for your time, patience, and understanding. Taabii (talk) 09:00, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

Decline reason:

I don't find this at all convincing. Yamla (talk) 11:26, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Both gptzero.com and zerogpt.me indicate the above request was generated using an LLM. --Yamla (talk) 11:27, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

@User:Yamla, I fixed the grammar using AI, but this is not generated by AI. As I said, I'll be active in Good faith editing, if I'm ever into bad faith editing then you may block me. But one chance should be given atleast. Taabii (talk) 16:00, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

New pages patrol January–February 2026 Backlog drive

January–February 2026 Backlog Drive | New pages patrol

New Pages Patrol is hosting a one-time, two-month experimental backlog drive aimed at reducing the backlog. This will be a combo drive: both articles and redirects will earn points.

  • The drive will run from 1 January to 28 February 2026.
  • The drive is divided into two phases. Participants may take part in either phase or across both phases, depending on availability.
  • Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled during the drive.
  • Two-month drive-exclusive barnstars will be awarded to eligible participants.
  • Each article review earns 1 point, while each redirect review earns 0.2 points.
  • Streak awards will be granted based on consistently meeting weekly point thresholds.
  • Barnstars will also be awarded for re-reviewing articles previously reviewed by other patrollers during the drive.
