kosanna parish
Hello Yermo,
i am Veronica Cristanchi, i am looking for the place where have born my great-grandfather.
He was Jose Kristanĉiĉ, may be his name was giovanni or josef. He was born on 22 july of 1869. He was born in Kossanna Goritzi - Imperi Austroungaro, he came to Argentina with his father (the same name), his mothe Catalina Podvevscek, and his others 2 brothers and one sister. So I really wish to know the place where him have born. I would like to ask you if you know the way to contact the parish to ask the if they have the birth certificate.
I can use the translator to write to them in Slovenian VeroCristanchi (talk) 20:59, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- @VeroCristanchi: hi. I'm sorry, but the name "Kossanna Goritzi" is not very clear to me. "Goritzi" likely refers to Gorizia, that city belongs to Italy now. The only place name similar to "Kossana" I know is Dolnja Košana near Pivka to the south-east, but it could also be some place closer to Gorizia on the Italian side. Maybe try contacting Parish of Košana, or ask my colleague Janezdrilc who knows more about church hierarchy and may find a more suitable parish to start asking. Slovene version of the name Jose is Jože or Jožef, but official documents may also have him as Giovanni. — Yerpo Eh? 07:58, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hello, Yerpo, Thank you very much, I apologize for the time it took me to respond to you. Thanks for contacting with Janezdrilc 200.24.254.127 (talk) 22:10, 25 February 2025 (UTC)
@VeroCristanchi: Your Kossanna Goritzi is certanly Slovene village of Kozana, that is located 13 km from Gorizia, the city that belonged to Austro-Hungarian Empire until 1918. Kozana was until 2018 the seat of Parish of Kozana, that was joined to Parish of Biljana in that year. Luckily, today we have most vital records of slovenian catholic parishes online. Book of baptisms of Parish of Kozana 1835-1915, digital page 78, has got the next entry: Josephus (Slovene Jožef) was born on July 22 1869 in Kozana number 6 and was baptised the same day. He was born to father Josephus Kristančič, who was a farmer and was son of Andreas (Slovene Andrej) and Mariana (Slovene Marjana). The child's mother was Catharina (Slovene Katarina) Podvršček from Kozana, the daugter of Antonius (Slovene Anton) and Catharina. For any other question please don't hasitate to ask. --Janezdrilc (talk) 17:42, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Janezdrilc: I feel stupid for forgetting about Kozana. Thank you! — Yerpo Eh? 17:50, 27 January 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Janezdrilc, Thank you very much for the information, it is really very exciting to know about my family and where they were born, my great-grandfather's father, who is also called Josephus, is in the history of the place where I was born in Argentina, he was one of the first settlers in the province of Formosa. Once again I thank you for the information. I hope one day I can go to see Kozana, and maybe find some family members

Request writing about Isabelle de Charrière (Q123396)
Hello Yerpo, Would like to write about Isabelle de Charrière (Q123386) for SL Wikipedia? It would be appreciated if it would be done. Boss-well63 (talk) 18:47, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Boss-well63:, hi, for topics outside my area of interest and knowledge, I require well-referenced source material. Which this article unfortunately isn't. I might do it if I find a general reference or two accessible to me, but it will be a stub and I'm not promising anything. You may want to add the request to sl:Wikipedija:Želeni članki. — Yerpo Eh? 19:23, 7 March 2025 (UTC)
