2008 Speedway World Cup Qualification

There's an issue with html appearing in the table. It's due to the Speedway template family, which are not documented as far as I could see. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 22:45, 1 May 2025 (UTC).

Original Vmax designer notability

I'm working on a draft about Atsushi Ichijō, the original designer of the Yamaha VMAX. While a previous reviewer found it non-notable, I believe his role in shaping such a globally recognized motorcycle justifies inclusion. Could someone from this WikiProject give input or help with notability? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Atsushi_Ichijo AndyKnowsAlot (talk) 20:26, 31 July 2025 (UTC)

"Armstrong MT500" photograph

What motorcycle is this?

The file name of this photograph is "Armstrong mt500", but its description is "Armstrong MT350". I suspect that both are wrong, as it seems to have disc brakes, and the writing on the side panel looks more like "Harley-Davidson" than "Armstrong". The side reflectors, orange on the front mudguard, and red above the rear wheel, I suspect are a US legal requirement. And as far as I know, there is no such motorcycle as an "Armstrong MT350". For all these reasons, I suspect that this motorcycle is a Harley-Davidson MT350E, not an Armstrong MT500.

The image is used in Wikipedia articles in various languages, representing either an Armstrong MT500 or a Harley-Davidson MT350E. It cannot be both. At least some of these must be incorrect.

The image was uploaded to Dutch Wikipedia by a user who seems to have been inactive since 2004. It was copied from Dutch Wikipedia to Wikimedia Commons by a bot, which seems to have been inactive since 2014. So I do not know whom to contact as the "author" of the image. I would be grateful for helpful observations from other contributors to help determine which model of motorcycle this is; and therefore from which articles the photograph should be deleted; and whether its Wikimedia Commons file should be renamed.

Thankyou, Motacilla (talk) 10:58, 1 August 2025 (UTC)

Hi Motacilla. It looks like a Harley-Davidson MT350E to me. The small panniers and federal reflectors make it a HD not an Armstrong. Although the resolution isn't high enough to read, it looks like there is the embossed 'Harley Davidson' on the side panel. The 500 used drum brakes whereas the 350 used a disc, making this a 350. (other differences such as the cv carb on the 350 rather than the Amal of the 500 are not visible in the picture).
You're right, there never was an Armstrong MT350. The 350 wasn't introduced until after the manufacturing rights were transferred to HD. --John B123 (talk) 20:07, 1 August 2025 (UTC)
Thankyou so much for confirming my suspicions. The image resolution is low, but it definitely looks like two words on the side panel, not one. As far as I know, "Harley Davidson" is the only likely candidate for those two words! I will wait to see whether anyone else comments, but then I think I will ask for the filename to be changed, and delete the image from articles where it does not belong. Best wishes, Motacilla (talk) 10:04, 2 August 2025 (UTC).

Discussion about WikiProject banner templates

For WikiProjects that participate in rating articles, the banners for talk pages usually say something like:

There is a proposal to change the default wording on the banners to say "priority" instead of "importance". This could affect the template for your group. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Council#Proposal to update wording on WikiProject banners.
